Deep Zoom Viewer

Examine the contents of a DZI/DZC

Deep Zoom Viewer is a small Wpf application that can open local or internet Deep Zoom files (dzi/dzc/xml) and let you 'browse around' inside.

It doesn't use Silverlight nor does it show you the 'Deep Zoom' layout - it's purely to see what images are referenced in the image/collection; how many levels of zoom are available and even what each tile looks like.

Version 1.2 (29-Jan-09) adds:

  • Status bar
  • Improved error handling
  • Default proxy settings on SOME internet 'connections' - however some actions will fail if an authenticating proxy is found

Version 1.1 (26-Jan-09) adds:

  • Loading a PhotoZoom.com collection (like Craig). Known bug: doesn't retrieve all zoom layers.
  • Image attributes (modified date, file size) for 'local' Deep Zoom files
  • Image metadata (Tags, ZOrder, Source filename) where a Metadata.xml file has been created in DeepZoomComposer
  • Tile Image attributes (modified date, file size) if available (HEAD HTTP request for remote images)
  • 'Hyperlink' to open images/tiles in a new window
  • Recent Files menu item

Silverlight (MIX10k entry) precursor to DeepZoomViewer

DeepZoomViewer is based on my 2009 MIX 10k entry which is a simpler, Silverlight-based version of the idea. You can try it below - or at the MIX website.
